A key task in this course is blogging. We won’t use a fixed textbook in this class, and lectures will typically use the whiteboard. This blog will serve as a record of the lectures and a de facto textbook.
Each blog post will be 1000-2000 words long. The post will distill the technical essence of the concepts covered in a lecture, give appropriate illustrations, and point to relevant references. (The poster will probably have to read the primary sources to do a good job with the post.) Once approved by the instructor and the TA, the post will be published on this website.
